David

David and family have been actively involved in the motel industry, mainly in Christchurch, for the past 18 years.

After leasing motels for some years, they purchased a freehold going concern, which they retain today as an investment. Addicted to the lifestyle and benefits the motel industry had to offer, the family went on to own and operate another Christchurch motel and invest further in what they saw as a growth market with a great future. During this period David served on the local Motel Executive for several years being pro-active in many areas.

Believing in motelling as a rewarding business option has always been important to the family.

Jon

Jon is married, with three children, and has been in the motelling industry since 1989.

He moved to Nelson with his family purchasing his first leasehold motel, which he operated successfully for two years. Upon returning to Christchurch, he bought another leased complex. Enjoying the benefits of motelling, Jon moved from leasing to owning a freehold going concern, subsequently buying and selling several in the following years giving him invaluable experience and knowledge of the motel industry.

He began motel broking seven years ago facilitating many successful motel transactions.

In his spare time Jon has an interest in Harley Davidsons and Alpaca farming, as well as the numerous sporting and other activities of his family.

More recently David and Jon have joined Mainland Real Estate as motel brokers based in Christchurch offering their extensive practical knowledge to prospective buyers and sellers alike.

By specialising exclusively in the motel/hospitality market they can offer buyers informed advice concerning the benefits and pitfalls that can arise in the industry plus help arrange valuations, finance and legal advice. They are happy to make their time freely available to help and advise first time motel buyers.
